Race Description

The Bridgeport Trail Run is held at the Endeavor Bridgeport Adventure Park in Bridgeport, Texas and will include 54K, 36K, 18K and 10K trail runs.

The adventure park is a 700-acre park operated by the City of Bridgeport for multiple outdoor recreational uses. The park is currently the home of the Northwest OHV Park, a 302-acre park for off-road enthusiasts, plus another 202 acres of hiking and biking trails. Most of the course will be on the single-track hiking and biking trails with a small section of the OHV park.

Trail Description

The trail system is a good balance of flat runnable sections, plus enough hilly/rocky sections to keep you awake. Each 11 mile full loop has around 731 feet of elevation gain.

The course starts at the pavilion inside the OHV park which sits at a higher elevation than the hike/bike trail system. From the pavilion, the course will descend 155 feet within 1/2 mile on the of the OHV trails to the gate adjoining with the hike/bike trail system. The next 5 miles will be on the flatter/easier sections of the hike/bike trails south of the power lines. The course will then move into the to the more technical/hilly (just under 5 miles) northern part of the hike/bike trails before arriving back at the gate into the OHV park. The return to the pavilion will then follow a different 1/2 mile section of trail back to the pavilion climbing another 155 feet back to the start/finish.

Location

The Endeavor Bridgeport Adventure Park is a 700-acre park operated by the City of Bridgeport for multiple outdoor recreational uses. The park is the home of the Northwest OHV Park, a 302-acre park for off-road enthusiasts, plus another 202 acres of hiking and biking trails.

The event will use the hiking and biking trails and a small section of the OHV Park. The Start/Finish is located inside the Northwest OHV Park. Entry to the park is $4 and will be collected upon entry into the park. In addition, the City of Bridgeport requires a waiver to be signed upon entry to the park. Please allow extra time to enter the park.

There is no camping allowed in the OHV park. However, just outside the gate is a small area for limited, privative RV camping or car camping. This is first come-first serve. For RV hook ups, tent camping or a better camping experience, we recommend the Wise County Park, approximately 9 miles away.

Aid Stations

IMPORTANT: This is a cupless race! All runners must cary a hydration device (i.e. Water Bottle or Hydration Bladder) to participate in the race.

There will be two manned aid stations on the course (Start/Finish and Trailhead). IF the forecast calls for a very warm day, we may set up an unmanned water only aid station. Aid station location(s) are shown on the course maps.

      • Runners in the 10K race pass through one aid station on the course at mile 1.3. Make sure you can carry enough water to last the entire 5.3 miles on the course.
      • Runners in the 18K/36K/54K pass through the trailhead aid station twice on each loop (mile 2.8, mile 5.9). After the trailhead aid station it is 5.3 miles back to the start/finish.
      • ALL RACES: Make sure you top off your water at the TRAILHEAD aid station before heading back to the Start/Finish (5.3 Miles).

We do not provide cups to participants. (Read more.) However, we sell a rubber reusable collapsable cup for $5 each that can be purchased when you pick up your race packet. Water and electrolyte drinks will be available at all aid stations along with typical aid station fare such as bananas, oranges, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, Oreos, fig cookies, soda, Salt Stick and much more.

Drop Bags

Drop bags can be left at the Start/Finish aid station. However, please note that drop bags are left in this area at your own risk. We cannot be responsible in any way for your drop bag or it’s contents. Post race, please be sure and pick up your drop bag. Under no circumstances will we mail or deliver a drop bag back to it’s owner.

Pacers

Pacers are not allowed for any event. Any participant who runs with someone who has not registered and paid for the event will be disqualified.

Registration and Refund Policy

We understand that things come up. If you can no longer run the race, if you cancel more than 30 days in advance, you will receive 100% race credit for another Blaze Trails Running event. If you cancel between 30 days and two weeks prior to race day, you will receive 50% race credit towards another Blaze Trails Running event. We will not allow any refunds or transfers less than two weeks before race day. No exceptions.

To cancel, log into Ultrasignup > Registration History and select “Edit” to cancel your race. Your credit needs to be used within one year. If you need an extended time to use your credit due to medical reasons (including pregnancy) or military deployments, please reach out ahead of time.

Bib transfers to another runner are allowed up until the two weeks prior to the race only if the race has not sold out and there is no waitlist. If you are interested in transferring your bib to a friend, please contact us immediately. It is very important for the safety of all runners that we have the correct contact and medical information. If the shirt order has already been placed, your friend agrees to accept the shirt size that you ordered. A $15 administration fee (plus transaction fee) will be charged to the person who is accepting the bib transfer. We require transfers to be completed no later than two weeks prior to the race. This allows us to keep our focus on producing the event and other important race details during the race week. If you contact us in the last two weeks to ask for a transfer, we will not reply and the transfer is not allowed. No exceptions.

When you register, you acknowledge that we do not provide a refund if we are forced to cancel the race due to unforeseen circumstances that risk the safety of our participants due to conditions that are out of the race director’s control. This may include, but is not limited to flooding, lightning or any other weather condition that makes the course unsafe for participants.
